Social Media Honors

We are excited to have successfully opened our second hotel under The Godfrey’s brand and thrilled with the warm reception we’ve received in the Downtown Crossing neighborhood.

Yesterday, we received more exciting news that our hotel is a finalist in the prestigious 8th Annual Shorty Awards, honoring our social media work.  Our recognition in the hospitality category of the awards is a great honor and we’re excited to share our entry with you here.  We highlighted details about this very blog and the reason we like giving our partners and guests a behind-the-scenes look at our hotel.  We also shared our social media efforts we conducted leading up to and during our Boston opening.

As background, the Shorty Awards honor the best social media campaigns across many industries.  You can see more about the awards on their website.

We’re thrilled to share a new update on the opening of our hotel.  This morning, Mayor Rahm Emanuel celebrated the opening of The Godfrey Hotel Chicago (127 W. Mayor Emanuel, along with Hotel Manager Jermaine Anderson and Oxford Capital President and CEO John Rutledge, provided media and guests with an overview of the launch of the luxury lifestyle brand in Chicago, which brings more than 150 new jobs to the area.

And the Winner Is…

Drum roll please! The winners from our Name the Element Contest are below. Congratulations to the three winners and thank you to all who participated. The Godfrey Hotel Chicago will help travelers and guests from near and far “Discover Your Element.”

As illustrated in the graphic below, the new winning element is “Do 139” – Defy Ordinary by Michele Barnes.  We loved her reasoning as well:

  • Not only does it capture the essence of the new hotel’s unique design, but it encourages people to think outside the box when it comes to travel and life.

As the first place winner, she will receive one complimentary night, plus a great (and discounted) rate of just $139/night plus tax for all of 2014  (some restrictions and blackout dates apply) and a $25 gift card to I|O Urban Roofscape.

It’s Element-ary

In life, we’re constantly required to go outside of our comfort zones and our element. Here at The Godfrey we’ve created a spot filled with vibrant energy where you can feel comfortable, at ease and completely at home. Be it fine dining, a wedding venue, plush robes, a swanky urban roofscape or cozy bedding, we invite you to find your element at our 4-star hotel.

Amenity Announcement

One important aspect of building The Godfrey includes selecting the best washroom amenities that most closely align with our property’s brand. It’s a decision that’s based upon a variety of factors and extensive industry research. Not surprisingly, The Washington Post reports that high end bath amenities are a key distinguishing factor that separate luxury properties from budget hotels. When the time came to determine the brand that would supply our bath amenities we wanted a name that future customers would trust; a company whose products are luxurious, indulgent and of the utmost quality. We’re pleased to announce the supplier of our bath amenities is…

LOccitane-(1)
