Guest Room Mobile Key Access

We’re excited to announce with OpenKey, the industry standard for universal mobile key access, that we are now offering our guests the convenience of digital key room access via OpenKey’s app.

OpenKey is helping to reinvent the hospitality experience by allowing guests authorized and secure access to their hotel room from their smartphone or mobile device. Our guests now have access to their rooms and additional conveniences to customize their stay via the app.

“We are very excited to be working with The Godfrey Hotel Boston to implement mobile key technology at such an iconic property. Guests can download the app directly onto their mobile device, check in on their way from the airport and go straight to their room while enjoying the convenience and security of smartphone room access.” – Brian Shedd, OpenKey Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

With the recent release of OpenKey Version 2.0, our guests are able to manage their check-in, call the front desk directly, confirm their identity with an ID capture for security and send their estimated time of arrival (ETA) to the hotel.

“We want to provide the very best digital guest experience possible. The hotel industry is evolving and technology has a big role in that. We are excited to work with OpenKey and have a partner with a hospitality technology platform that supports our needs and can be implemented into our existing BLE locks.” – Justin Tait, Godfrey Hotel Boston Director of Operations.

The OpenKey app is available to download in the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

We look forward to welcoming you and hope you enjoy this new tech-savvy amenity.

Siobhan Higgins Review of The Godfrey Hotel in AirChicago

Siobhan Higgins wrote about how The Godfrey Hotel is THE hottest new hotel in Chicago for the heavily-anticipated inaugural issue of this quarterly magazine distributed within Chicago’s O’Hare and Midway Airports. Check out what he thinks are the best parts of The Godfrey Hotel and I|O Urban Roofscape.

The Godfrey Hotel featured in Travel + Leisure Magazine

Travel+Leisure placed The Godfrey at the top of the new hotel list in “Chicago Decoder”. They featured our modern structure and how it “cuts a commanding figure against the Chicago Skyline.”

Although as the new kid on the block, we certainly take advantage of the more modern things we can offer guests, just like T+L mentioned our RFID card scanners.  With this, guests don’t even have to juggle everything to simply open their door.  Convenience at its finest.  To some it may seem like a modern luxury, but to us, it just makes sense.

Travel + Leisure - March 2014

Chicago is a great city, with plenty to do and see. You never know where you may find the next adventure or even find time to relax.  At The Godfrey Hotel, we strive to give you a modern, luxurious experience, so you can find your element.

The Man Behind the Hotel

As we’re about to swing open our doors tomorrow – February 1, 2014 – we want to highlight John Rutledge, the man behind the building of The Godfrey Hotel.  Rutledge is the CEO and founder of Oxford Capital, the hotel real estate and private equity company that led our project through completion.

Michigan Avenue Magazine spotlighted Rutledge and his many accomplishments and hotel projects in its latest article, “Hotelier John Rutledge Opens the Godfrey.”  The article leads with foolish gambles versus calculated risks.  Put simply, he states, “I’ve never been a cowboy. I’m not a reckless risk taker.”
