Latest #SiteVisit Updates

The holiday season is always filled with hustle and bustle and our hotel progress is no different.  This holiday season, we have a few more updates we’re excited to share with you around our hotel.  Our guest rooms are already set up and ready for opening, so we’re excited to see the rest of the hotel come together as well.

Below is a sneak peek at the light fixtures that were installed in our lobby bar last week:

We also want even our lobby bathroom to feel consistent with the rest of our hotel design and aesthetic – luxurious and welcoming.  Our lobby restrooms were tiled with a geometric pattern you’ll find throughout the hotel and as seen below.

We’ve shared a number of updates on the area leading to the elevators as we restored some of the original, historic charm.  The elevator bank ceiling was recently white washed again.

The George Howell and restaurant spaces are coming along nicely too and we’ll share more on that later. Come back for more updates and continue to watch our progress.

Guest Room Details

A few weeks ago, we hosted a couple of hard hat media tours where we toured the lobby, the George Howell space and the guest rooms. As we near our opening date this winter, it was exciting to show our guests the details in the guest rooms as they come together.

Following shows some of the extra details in our rooms to create a luxurious experience for our future guests.

The brand of robes we will have in our guest rooms is Frette - a luxury line out of Italy. The Frette linens and Heeley bath products make the rooms comfortable for our guests, while the decor makes them a relaxing oasis from the fast-paced energy of Downtown Crossing.

Two Hard Hat Tours in Two Days

This week we hosted two hard hat tours with local media and social media influencers. You might remember that we hosted our first hard hat tour in May, and as you can imagine, a lot of progress has been made to the hotel since then.  We’re thrilled to be getting even closer to our opening.

Air It Out

You most likely don’t think about air that often, but it’s something we put a lot of thought into while building The Godfrey Boston. We want to make sure our guests are as comfortable as possible during their stay, and we think that being able to adjust the temperature of their room to their liking is key.

To ensure that each room could deliver, we knew we needed to have the infrastructure in place. We planned for one compressor to every six guest rooms. That means that there are about 50 compressors lining our roof. Each guest can control the hot and cool air in their room using the high-tech Toshiba panels.

We’re getting closer to our opening, so continue to check back for more updates.
