I|O Urban Roofscape is the place to be now that The Godfrey Hotel has opened! We have had several organizations host parties, lunches and other events in the rooftop space so far. On Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2013, Stimulus Social Club hosted a Mercy for Animals benefit, which was also the first official event at I|O.

As we’re about to swing open our doors tomorrow – February 1, 2014 – we want to highlight John Rutledge, the man behind the building of The Godfrey Hotel. Rutledge is the CEO and founder of Oxford Capital, the hotel real estate and private equity company that led our project through completion.
Michigan Avenue Magazine spotlighted Rutledge and his many accomplishments and hotel projects in its latest article, “Hotelier John Rutledge Opens the Godfrey.” The article leads with foolish gambles versus calculated risks. Put simply, he states, “I’ve never been a cowboy. I’m not a reckless risk taker.”
