With health and fitness on everyone’s mind this New Year, we want to share an update on our fitness center. It will be open 24/7 for hotel guests, and includes treadmills, ellipticals, and strength and weight training equipment.

Some projects and decisions with opening a hotel and restaurant are difficult – and some are downright delicious. On Friday, we conducted a fantastic tasting, and the combination of flavors from Chef Riley Huddleston is unique and inspired. From the dressed-up comfort food favorite Truffled Mac and Cheese to the beautifully executed Salmon with Fingerling Potatoes and Citrus Onion Marmalade, guests at The Godfrey Hotel and I|O Urban Roofscape will find the perfect culinary treat for every occasion.
The new I|O Burger will surprise Chicago burger connoisseurs, and the fries alone would be a excellent late-night snack.
Imagine amazing food and a unique Chicago skyline view… We look forward to seeing you in 2014!
What an exciting day! Thank you to everyone who attended our Job Fair. More than 700 people attended to apply for positions in anticipation of our February 2014 opening of the hotel and IO Urban Roofscape. We’re hiring for bartenders, assistant managers, servers, security, housekeeping and more.
We also shared one of our key mantras with the applicants: Strive to exceed our guests’ expectations – one guest at a time.

We promised you updates on our retractable roof and we’re excited to share how quickly it is progressing. Below are new photos from the retractable roof’s installation and we expect it to be fully completed in the coming weeks by Lend Lease, our construction company.
The retractable roof allows for panoramic views of Chicago’s gorgeous skyline. Our rooftop, I|O Urban Roofscape, will have a fire pit, shimmering water elements, a video wall and more.
